The solar, rising, masculine, extroverted energy of summer can send our nervous system into overdrive.
For many, there is an allure to the summer months. The days are long and filled, saying yes to all the events, the parties, it certainly is a season of play and delight.
And now.. we shift.
We shift.. again.
We spiral again on this beautiful twirling, swirling wheel of time.
The long, slow, exhale begins. Just as the trees and plants sigh and allow their leaves and seeds to descend to the Earth.
And when we dig our toes into the soil or the sand, we feel that chill making it’s way into our bones. The mornings feel slower now. The evenings, shorter.
Many of us can feel that ache of grief. That busyness and excitement of summer gone, the silence slowly creeping back in.
With silence, there is space, with space there is often grief, with grief there is love.
Autumn is filled with honoring and celebrations of grief, invite yourself to fully lean in to the grief present in your life, in all the multitudes of ways that it arrives.
Persephone returns to the underworld around this time, how can you honor your underworld, shadow parts, depths?
We have now shifted from the season of the Mother to the season of the Wise Woman.
She who returns to herself…
Who sips tea slowly in the mornings in deep contemplation, who notices the petals drooping on the late summer blooms, who takes the time to place her hands on her heart and breathe deeper. Check in. Stay a while. Rest.
